We'd like to say a big thank you to Stapleford residents who put their trust in our local candidates Dr John Doddy and Adam Stockwell. Over the past 12 months, John and Adam have been out knocking on hundreds of doors, speaking to many people about issues that affect them. From investment in parks to keeping council tax low, our message was clear.
Unfortunately, we lost the seat to the Liberal Democrats. Whilst coming second place, there is a positive - our vote held. We were pleased to see that many Conservatives in Stapleford still have trust in their local Conservatives and we'd like to say a big thank you. Adam Stockwell said "Whilst I am sad to have lost, I will keep on promoting Stapleford and will always put the people of Stapleford first."
So what's next? Well one thing for sure is that we'll continue to put forward the case for Stapleford. Over the past four years we have already invested in Stapleford (Free WiFi, investment in Hickings Lane Park and the conversion of the Police Station into a Business Hub) but there is more to be done. And we'll continue to ensure Stapleford is not forgotten by the Labour Party, propped up by the Lib Dems.
